16 new cities join Open Data Initiative by Bloomberg

One and a half years ago Bloomberg Philanthropies set up the What Works Cities initiative. The goal is to get 100 mid-sized US cities to actively enhance the usage of big data in the urban environment. So far 55 cities across the U.S. joined the intitiative which is meant to function as a network of local decision-makers and global experts on eGovernance as well as a pool of resources to improve public services.
