18 Million pounds awarded to new green transportation projects

The UK is all set to showcase a dozen of cutting-edge green transport technologies very soon, thanks to the government funding of 18 million pounds. 12 projects catering to “promote cleaner and greener travel” have been awarded the grant following a successful presentation of business cases and promise. The funding will now be used to deploy and demonstrate these technologies at a commercial scale. Mike Pitts, head of urban systems at InnovateUK, said that, “We are really excited that the public will be able to experience these cutting edge technologies for themselves much faster thanks to our support. If they deliver the expected outcomes we expect them to be rapidly adopted and scaled across the UK showing we are a great place to develop innovative solutions to societies challenges.” Winners include Powervault, ITM Power, ZAPINAMO, Grid Smarter Cities Ltd, Citi Logik, CarTap, Smart Component Technologies, iGeolise, Zeetta Networks, Vivacity Labs, Lynkeos Technology, and Zephir.
