The article advices seven steps to take when companies overstep the planetary boundries and social thresholds. These boundries were defined as a “safe operating space for humanity” by a team of researchers led by Johan Rockström in an article in the journal Ecology and Society in 2009. They identified tipping points for nine earth system processes which will lead to environmental changes at an unpredictable global scale if they are crossed.
