A French-based manufacturer has designed smart trash-cans that should help people recycle. The can has a barcode scanner that determines whether a piece of trash can be recycled. Moreover this includes an app that can track what has been thrown away and then puts those items on the shopping list. Smart trash-cans can be a part of smart-city initiatives for increasing recycling.
