A report by the United Nations Children’s Fund says about 300 million children worldwide breathe highly toxic air. About 220 million of them live in South Asia in places where air pollution is at least six times the level that the World Health Organization considers safe. Serious health risks are the result. The air pollution can be released from fossil fuel combustion and industry but it can also include natural sources like dust.
