VW is going to cut 30,000 jobs worldwide. 23,000 are going to be cut in Germany. Taking this step is supposed to help saving 3,7 billion EUR by 2020. It is part of VW’s goal to turn around its core brand and shift to electric and self-driving cars as a consequence of its emissions-cheating scandal. 3,5 billion EUR will be invested to transform the brand and German plants. German factories should become 25 percent more productive.
