Smart has introduced the fourth generation of its electric drive technology. It is not only applied in the Smart fortwo coupé and Smart fortwo cabrio but also in the Smart forfour for the first time. Smart will become the only car manufacturer globally to offer its full model range with combustion engines and pure battery-electric drive options. Additionally to the basic drive program the car will have an ECO mode which is designed for particularly efficient driving style. The “smart control” app electric drive information can be called via smartphone, tablet or PC. It works as a pre-entry climate control or intelligent charging can be controlled remotely. The technology will be launched in early 2017. The smart fortwo vehicle’s price will start at 21,940 Euro.
