Solar-powered Internet-providing trash can

In a pilot project Singapore installed a number of new public trash bins, that provide multiple service. Besides allowing people to dump waste, it provides Wi-Fi and is generating solar power. The so-called Bigbellies can notify the waste operators when they are full and need to be emptied. Further the trash bins are odor-blocking and keep rain and air out in order to make handling the waste more comfortable. They support local retail as people using the Wi-Fi are informed about special offers of the shops around them. Further the Wi-Fi is of great use for tourists who need to find their way or specific information.
