A European company called “Starship Technologies” proposed a pilot program for autonomous delivery services to the Sunnycale City Council. The self-driving robots would deliver parcels, groceries and food over short distances and running at a maximum speed of four miles per hour. They are able to deliver within a three-mile radius of their hub and run on rechargeable batteries. Yet they are not completely autonomous and require human operators when crossing streets. Starship hopes further testing will eventually lead to full automation.
