The New York start-up “Totem Power” designed and has built a network of devices that generate zero emission power, provide internet access, street lighting, energy storage and EV charging stations. The device is structured like a Totem with solar panels on top, energy storage batteries in the center supporting stalk, integrated 4G wifi, street lights and EV charging stations on the outside. The main purpose of the Totem system is to reduce carbon emissions. The overall advantages of the Totem are that its network will continue to provide power and internet access in times of emergency and it could also help balance electrical distribution system.
