Internet of Things (IoT) puts computing intelligence into objects and systems and connects them to a network which is all embedded into a digital ecosystem. In this context, Tesla has developed the IoT’s “killer app” which will be combating climate change. Tesla has designed cars that are connected to solar collectors and batteries, all communicating via the internet. Thus every individual is their own utility. Less carbon is emitted. IoT enables the creation of smart electric systems which is flexible in supply and demand. A responsive energy network can be generated in which production and usage can be quanitfied in real time and correlated. Power does not need to be produced any longer, only when it is consumed.
