56 percent of Copenhagen’s citizens get around by bicycle. 20 percent choose public transport such as buses, trains or metro and only 14 percent choose a car to go to work or education each day. Copenhagen has the policy that bicycle traffic and public transport usage must never fall below 30 percent and car traffic must never rise above 30 percent.
