The European Commission adopted a European Strategy on Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) yesterday. This initiative is a milestone towards cooperative connected and automated mobility. It will enable vehicles to “talk” to each other and to the transport infrastructure on EU roads by 2019. The implementation of the strategy is expected to significantly improve road safety, traffic efficiency and comfort of driving by helping to take right decisions and adapt to the traffic situation. Moreover those technologies help to reduce human error which is the greatest source of accidents in transport. The market potential of connected automated driving is estimated billions of euro annually.
