Who gets cleaner air from EVs in the US?

The US National Bureau of Economics published a working paper that shows how unequal the air quality benefits of electric cars are distributed in the US. Ownership of electric vehicles is highest in urban areas which leads to lower pollution levels in cities. In rural areas however, where most power plants are located, air pollutions increases due to a higher demand in electricity.
