The port of Amsterdam increasingly brings together companies active in the bio-based economy. Currently it leases space to a biodiesel fuel producer and two other bioplastics companies. This part of the World Port Climate Initiative launched in 2008. 55 ports from around the world signed the World Port Climate Declaration at the encouragement of the C40 Climate Cities Leadership Group and Clinton Climate Initiative. Amsterdam’s port aims at becoming an innovative hub for energy transition and circular and bio-based economy that will create jobs, new products, and economic progress.
