It is estimated that there are about 100 million pieces of different types of trash in space that were generated by previous exhibitions. In order to collect this trash which could demostrate a security problem of future space travel or re-enter the atmosphere, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) together with a fishnet company developed and experimental trash collection vessel. This vessel has now been sent to the International Space Station (ISS).
