Bike-sharing schemes have proven to be very successful in many major cities. Providing this sustainable transportation service in mid-sized or small towns can however be challenging due to a lack of financing. Zagster developed a way to enable bike-sharing services in smaller communities. This has been done by means of a private-public funding system, built-in locking technology and other adjustments that make the service fit the locality.
