Electric car makers have got significant support because the Chinese government aims at developing low-emission vehicles. However, the automaker’s sales are curtailed by low-speed electric vehicles (LSEVs). LSEVs are not that slow, though. They can speed up to 60 km/h and are fast enough to get around in big and heavily congested cities. One of their advantages is their cost efficiency. The average price of such a vehicle is 4,000 GBP. LSEVs have the potential to play a major role in cleaning up Chinese cities, by offering a more compact, low-emission alternative for car owners.
