According to a report from the Navigant Research consulting firm the rapid growth of plug-in electric vehicles worldwide is expected to rise from 2 million current status to 37 million in 2025. Especially the USA, Europe and China will contribute to this development. In the report technological advancements and cheaper electric vehicle options are listed as the drivers of the significant growth. Long-range electric vehicles are becoming more price competitive such as the Tesla Model 3 with more than 400,000 pre-orders.
