Ford is testing a fleet of 20 Transit Plug-in Hybrids in London

Ford is testing a fleet of 20 Transit Custom Plug-In Hybrid vehicles with Transport for London. Working together with the UK city’s local transit authority the new vehicles will be used for one year. The cars have a pure electric range of around 31 miles. The Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle is one the the 13 total new electric or hybrid vehicles Ford will introduce globally. The tests are supported by 4,7 million Pounds from the UK’s Advanced Propulsion Centre which is a government funded research facility. The project is part of London’s goal to implement a Ultra Low Emission Zone in the city core by 2020.
