London Police, Scotland Yard, will launch a new fleet of hundreds of hybrid electric cars to help fight London’s air pollution. 250 alternative energy cars are planned to be on the road within 12 months which is the first step towards replacing the 4000 vehicle fleet by alternative energy vehicles. Hydrogen fuel cells will be used for emergency response cars for the first time in the UK. The city hopes around half of all police cars will be hybrids by next year.
