In the Chinese city of Nanjing two buildings will get a “vertical forest”. Around 1100 trees and a combination of over 2500 shrubs and plants will be planted on the buildings so that they are able to produce around 60 kilograms of oxygen every day. The vertical forest will be completed next year. The buildings have a height of 107 and 199 metres. A Hyatt hotel will be in the shorter one, a museum as well as offices and an architecture school will be housed in the taller building.
