Norway’s largest ferry company “Fjord1” will have three new ferries driven by hybrid electric systems. The ferries will have a capacity for 50 cars and 199 persons. All three ferries will entirely operate on electricity and charge quickly. Norwegian Electric Systems’ main DC system will be responsible for the safe charging and decharging. It includes a “Norwegian Electric Systems Odin’s Eye” solution that allows future upgrades such as larger battery capacity and/or charging power from shore.
