The company “Nest” is improving its apps and its smart cameras. The update for iOs and Android includes an automatic door detection feature for indoor and outdoor Nest Cam feeds. The cameras are able to recognize motion patterns. The data are fed into deep learning algorithms in order to make recognition process automated and create “activity zones” around doors. When there is movement around the doors, the camera sends a notification. When the camera detects something different or there is more than one door, the activity zones can be redrawn. Nest Protect alerts, for carbon monoxide levels and smoke, even pulls together live video from all cameras.
