Uber, Intel and Aeris form coalition to secure autonomous driving

Several companies, including Uber, Intel and Aeris, have formed the Future of Automotive Security Technology Research (FASTR) coalition to secure connected cars for the future. The coalition will include original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), transportation network companies, automotive supply chain providers, autonomous vehicle specialists, SoC providers and hardware and software suppliers, specialist automotive security companies, academics, researchers and hackers. On Wedensday it has published a manifesto to urge automakers to cooperate in locking down cybersecurity for autonomous vehicles. Furthermore, it promised to release whitepapers, reference architecture, code samples, workshop best-known methods and other resources useful for automotive vehicle producer’s supply chains.
