The city of Bangkok has unveiled “Resilient Bangkok” which is a strategic roadmap to promote urban resilience. The strategy was developed by the City of Bangkok and in consultation with more than 50 grassroots district organizations and with support from 100 Resilient Cities. It proposes concrete actions to build resilience to natural disasters such as floods. Furthermore, the strategy includes the implementation of a safe, accessible and convenient transportation network or strengthening the institutional capacity and regulations. There are three interconnected areas for action:
- Increasing Quality of Life
- Reducing Risk and Increasing Adaptation (to natural and human hazards and the increasing risks posed by climate change)
- Driving A Strong and Competitive Economy
