A US national nonprofit group, including among others crime experts and researchers, is investigating cold cases under the “Murder Accountability Project”. With the help of big data and algorithms, patterns can be detected that are not trackable by traditional means of investigation. The group sees great potentials in the application of information technology for the field of criminal justice.
