Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI) backed initiative is being led by the University of Dayton research Institue (UDRI) with an aim to offer safer, affordable and recyclable compressed- gas fuel tanks for the trucking and the automotive industry. The collaborators include DuPont Performance Materials, the University of Dayton Research Institute, the Composite Prototyping Center and Steelhead Composites will work on the research to develop a thermoplastic material which can be used to develop lighter and stronger steel counterparts as the composite fuel tanks.
