In the frame of a $25 million agreement, Shell International Exploration and Production in cooperation with the UC Berkeley Energy Biosciences Institute will fund research into economically, environmentally and socially responsible energy for five years. One of the goals is to have fuel from sustainable sources be competetively available on the market. The partnership is open for proposals for which products to put resources in.
