At Voodoo Manufacturing in Brooklyn, a robotic arm covers the bulk of the menial tasks necessary for operating the 3D printing factory. Going by the name of Project Skywalker, the robot was not designed to replace employees, but rather relieve them of lower-value tasks. It will also play a vital role in reducing costs for the enterprise in the next few years. The system could be developed further to be able to produce anything from prosthetics to custom parts for hardware.
