Prosthetic legs have helped amputees walk for a while, but now Northwell Health is introducing a model that allows the customer to swim as well. The innovative swim leg is yet to be optimized, but testing proved hopeful as a former marine was satisfied with the nonslip treads on the soles and the 3D-printed parts allowing for a realistic swimming experience. The final product will become available in less than half a year.
