Windhorse Aerospace, a UK company, designed Pouncer, a drone to replace air drops when supplying people in need. The developers are confident that only their innovation will work to help efficiently in war zones. In contrast to conventional air drops, they can guarantee that the Pouncer model will land where it is supposed to.
The drone can carry up to 50 kg of food, and parts of it can be used as fuel or shelter upon arrival. The bulk of the components is made from wood right now, but Windhorse Aerospace wants to make the drone out of edible materials in the future. Testing starts this may and at the end of the year Pouncer will be ready to be deployed.
