Within the scope of the existing Renewable Energy Integration Demonstrator in Singapore (REIDS) project, Schneider Electric has signed an agreement with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and ENGIE Lab to provide off-grid areas with electrification. Integrating renewable sources and storage systems, REIDS will use micro-grids to help areas in Singapore and in Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific that are not connected to the public grid. Important innovations are scalability and the ability to operate from greenfield systems as well as brownfield systems through a plug and play approach.
