Jason Forcier, CEO of A123 Systems, said in a press release that his company is planning to construct a $40 million “epicenter of engineering” in Michigan for manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries and research purposes. The complex will provide work for 400 employees and increased the company’s impact on the US economy by $10 million every year. Ground will be broken at the end of the year, and operation is scheduled to start in late 2018.
