Smartflower is a new plug-and-play next generation solar system that is built to work like a sunflower. At sunrise, it unfolds, then follows the sun throughout the day, and folds back into itself in the evening. It also stays closed if weather conditions are far off from optimal or the panel could be damaged. Smartflower does that with a GPS-based dual axis tracking system. As the panel is always positioned to maximize energy production, the provider claims that it is 40 percent more effective than regular solar panels. It also cleans itself.
