New York City-based design firm SO-IL in a cooperation with MINI Living has introduced a prototype for a housing solution called Breathe at the Salone del Mobile during the Design Week in Milan. The “walls” of the house are made from a translucent PVC mesh that acts as breathable, light-permeable skin, filtering light and air to create a microclimate.
Through its flat pack design, Breathe is easily disassembled and transported anywhere to be rebuilt. The product is not made for all climates, but wants to challenge our view of what a normal house should look like nonetheless.
