Saudi Arabia is aiming to generate 10% of its power from the renewable sources by the year 2023. Moving ahead in this direction, Saudi Arabian Energy Ministry has announced 30 solar and wind energy projects with a total capacity of 9.5 gigawatts. saudi Arabia also aims to monetize this investment in the long run as indicated by the Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih. “We are seeking for the kingdom, in the medium term, to become a nation that develops, manufactures and exports the advanced technologies of renewable energy production,” al-Falih said. These projects will entail an investment in the range of $30 billion to $50 billion.
