DataKind and Microsoft, in collaboration with US cities, are supporting Vision Zero, an initiative based on the assumption that traffic-related accidents are predictable and preventable. Predictive algorithms and advanced statistical methods are used to reduce the amount crashes to zero. Having started in New York, Seattle and New Orleans, the potential for data and technology in traffic security has been realized in more than 25 US cities by now.
