Binghampton University wants to help diabetes patients with artificial pancreas

Biomedical engineers at Binghampton University in New York are working on the creation of a 3D-bioprinted pancreas. Using stem cells of each individual patient, this could significantly improve treatment of people suffering from type 1 diabetes. Although hopeful for the ongoing research, the team estimates that is will take a decade for 3D-printed organs to be available for transplants.
