Marine and power plant specialist Wartsila recently acquired Greensmith for an unknown amount. This follows a combined engine and storage power plant product by Watsila that was already operated with Greensmith software. With the acquisition, Wartsila now controls 63 gigawatts of installed power plant capacity in 176 countries.
Large firms have been buying energy storage firms for a while now, and the trend seems to continue.
