After the declared bankruptcy of Sungevity, energy giant Engie is now adding the European operations of the solar installer to its distributed energy offerings. This follows several other accumulations of distributed energy assets by Engie, including stakes in battery startup Green Charge Networks and solar developer Unisun Energy.
European utilities and power producers are drawn to the distributed energy market as similar acquisitions, notably by Enel and Wartsila, indicate.
