The Singaporean EV manufacturer Vanda Electrics, announced to release an electric scooter which almost seems like a childhood dream. The scooter, called Motochimp comes with a lithium ion battery powering a half horsepower rear hub motor. The Motochimp will be available in colours red, yellow and blue, giving it a somewhat toylike appearance. Yet, this is exactly the approach of Vanda Electrics, who “want to revolutionize electric transport on a global scale”. They even go as far as calling it the “new face of city transport”- Motochimp is small, easy to charge through a standard wall outlet within one hour, has a range of 60 km and a top speed of about 30 km/h. In fact, the Motochimp was inspired by a sketch of a child, making it the perfect sassy companion in a bustling urban environment.
