Report maps out development for hybrid energy storage

A new white paper by Navigant Research dealing with hybrid energy storage estimates the global installed hybrid energy storage system power capacity to increase from 78.6. megawatts today to 2.1 gigawatts in 2026.

Examining the global market for utility-scale and customer-sited hybrid energy storage systems, the report lists advantages of hybrid systems such as lower cost, increased system efficiency, increased system lifetime, and being more effective and efficient with less storage capacity.

Hybrid energy storage technology is able to achieve levels of power capacity, energy duration, and cycle life a system based on just one energy storage technology could not.
