The New Urban Agenda, which will be finalized at the Habitat III conference in October, aims to guide sustainable urbanization around the world for the coming decades. According to Gino Van Begin, secretary general of the Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI), the document must bolster three key city assets: Ambitious leaders, skilled staff and strong community and stakeholder engagement.
