The vast amount of energy consumed by buildings is one of the reasons why cities account for nearly 70 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. A new partnership, led by the World Green Building Council and the Building Efficiency Accelerator, aims to improve building energy efficiency in participating cities in order to cut down their carbon emissions.
