After the United Kingdom has given the go-ahead for its first new power plant in more than 20 years, experts diverge on the role of nuclear energy in meeting the agreed-upon climate change targets. According to Jim Williams, director of the US Deep Decarbonization Pathways Project (DDPP), the consensus among the experts is that achieving these targets will be harder without nuclear energy.
