Renewables account for 30 percent of global power capacity

According to a new report released by the World Energy Council, renewables now account for over 30 percent of the total global installed power generation capacity and 23 percent of total global electricity production. With only four percent of global electricity supply coming from wind and solar, hydropower and biomass continue to dominate the sector, the study finds.
