Scientists at the Penn State University have created a new battery that soaks up CO2 and reuses it to generate more energy. The pH-gradient flow cell battery is the most powerful of its kind. The CO2 is dissolved into water then an electrochemical system converts the produced chemical energy into electrical power. This process can also be reversed to recharge the battery. The scientists repeated this process 50 times without losing performance.
