WinkBeds is a direct-to-consumer mattress startup that is launching a mattress with built-in heating and cooling functionality. The device called “CoolControl” is located below the mattess. Four fans are attached underneath the mattress that such in the air from the room. They have built-in copper plates that either warm or cool the air depending on the set temperature. A base unit plugs into the fans and collects temperature commands. The temperatur can be managed by a wireless remote or iOS app. Fans and temperature can work together and separately, so one side of the bed can be cooled and the other one can be warmed.
