The Tunisian startup Tyer Wind has invented a flapping wind turbine that moves like hummingbird. The company replicated the mechanism that allows hummingbirds to fly. The turbine has two vertical axis wings (each 5,25 feet long) made from carbon fiber that convert kinetic wind energy into emissions-free electricity. Both wings sweep an area of nearly 12 square feet and generate and power output of 1 kW.
